As an Optometrist with Lock Family Eye Care for the past 10 years, Dr. Lock has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
After working in Chicago for 2 years, Dr.'s Michael and Jenessa Lock opened Lock Family Eye Care with the Lenscrafters at Jordan Creek in West Des Moines. The Lenscrafters and Lock Family Eye Care started providing the highest level of Eye Care for the entire family and high quality eyewear in 2006. The Lenscrafters at Jordan Creek carries many of today's top designer frames and consistently focuses on quality in their work. Lock Family Eye Care covers the full scope of care in Optometry. They specialize in all types of contact lens fitting, including toric, monovision, multifocal and gas permeable fittings. Lock Family Eye Care utilizes Optomap in their practice to raise the bar in the level of care provided to their patients. Optomap allows the doctors to be more thorough in detecting sight threatening eye conditions, while allowing the patient to better understand what is being done in the process of the eye examination.
Since 2003, Dr.'s Michael and Jenessa Lock have been connected to the work of helping those in need in Haiti, which was devastated by an earthquake in January of this year. The eye clinic that they have seen patients at in Haiti was destroyed. Michael and Jenessa remain committed to helping rebuild the eye clinic, caring for the patients, and reaching out to help meet basic needs of those in abject poverty.
Michael and Jenessa attribute all of their success to the grace of God, and give Him all of the praise. They believe that we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which He has prepared for us. It is their belief that our lives are meant to glorify God. Michael and Jenessa hope to continue to serve God in a way that allows others to consider God and His saving love for everyone.
During his educational career, Dr. Michael Lock graduated from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Iowa Optometric Association. In the time away from his busy schedule, he greatly enjoys spending time with his family. Michael is also an avid sports enthusiast who loves to play the guitar.
